HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?: You’ll Never Believe Some Of The Players Who Cracked The Top 10 List Of Total Merchandise Sales…

Football is undoubtedly the most popular sport in the United States.

Unsusprisingly, NFL merchandise sales keep going up and up and up with each and every passing year.

Most of us own a jersey or 20 of our favorite teams. Even the “anti-jersey” crowd at least owns a hat or hoodie.

When it comes to individual players, have you ever wondered who’s responsible for selling the most merchandise of anyone?

Well, the answer to that question – at least over the past year – is a pretty surprising one…

According to the NFLPA, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was the #1 best-selling player from the period of March 1, 2023 – February 29, 2024.

The second spot on the list was claimed by Eagles center Jason Kelce.

Kelce has always been one of the most popular players in the league, especially follow the Birds’ victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.

Who could ever forget the epic speech Kelce gave at the victory parade???

The fact that Kelce’s brother just so happens to be Taylor Swift’s boyfriend probably doesn’t hurt either.

Speaking of Travis, he finished fourth on the list of the NFL’s best-sellers.

Sandwiched in-between the Kelce brothers is none other than Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Rounding out the top five is the explosive do-it-all weapon for the San Francisco 49ers: Christian McCaffrey.

Next in the sixth spot is polarizing New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers followed by Cincinnati Bengals signal caller Joe Burrow.

Earning the final three spots in the top ten is Niners quarterback Brock Purdy – followed by Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parson – then finally, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings.

Interestingly, no Pittsburgh Steeler made the list.

Being arguably the second-biggest brand in the entire NFL, you would have thought that a Steeler such as T.J. Watt would have cracked the top ten…

The complete top ten goes as follows…

#1. Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

#2. Jason Kelce, C, Philadelphia Eagles (now-retired)

#3. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs

#4. Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs

#5. Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers

#6. Aaron Rodgers, QB, New York Jets

#7. Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals

#8. Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers

#9. Micah Parsons, LB, Dallas Cowboys

#10. Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings

In case you’re curious, the next ten are the following…

#11. Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills

#12. Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers

#13. CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys

#14. Tyreek Hill, WR, Miami Dolphins

#15. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins

#16. George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers

#17. DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

#18. Aidan Hutchinson, DE, Detroit Lions

#19. Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

#20. Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

What are your thoughts on the list?

Are you surprised that Hurts claimed the top spot? … Do you think he’ll see a huge decline in merchandise sales going forward due to his regression last season?

If you have to project the year ahead – who do you think the top five best-sellers will end up being?

On a fun note, what’s your all-time favorite jersey that you own???
