Heisman Winner Caleb Williams Gets Brutally Honest About The 2023 Season

In a recent podcast with Front Office Sports, USC football quarterback Caleb Williams shared his ambitious aspirations for the upcoming 2023 season, expressing his determination to lead the Trojans to new heights.

“I want to reach 70 percent completion, I want to go win a national championship and hoist up that trophy,” Williams said confidently.

“I want to win a Pac-12 championship and hoist up that trophy. I want to win Heisman number two and then hopefully down the line at some point, go first pick and take it on from there.”

As a junior this season, Williams is hailed as the best returning player in college football. Last season, he earned the prestigious Heisman Trophy, leading USC to an impressive 11-3 record, securing a Pac-12 Championship Game appearance, and a Cotton Bowl berth.

Despite his individual achievements, Williams remains focused on the team’s ultimate goals, emphasizing the importance of winning championships.

Last season, the Trojans fell short in the Pac-12 Championship Game against Utah and faced disappointment in the Cotton Bowl, losing a 15-point lead in the final 4:30 of the game.

The Pac-12 media has picked USC football as the favorite to win the conference this season, and the team has set its sights on a coveted spot in the four-team College Football Playoff.

Regardless of the outcome, Williams is widely expected to be the #1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, provided he declares. His arm talent, playmaking ability, and physicality at the quarterback position have garnered praise from analysts and scouts alike.

Leading the charge for USC football is head coach Lincoln Riley, renowned for his ability to develop quarterbacks. With three Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks under his tutelage, Riley has played a crucial role in Williams’ growth as a player.

USC football’s offensive prowess was evident last season, ranking #3 in total offense with an impressive 506.6 yards per game. The team is expected to maintain its high-performance standards and be a formidable contender nationally in the 2023 season.

Do you think Williams will win his second straight Heisman Trophy this season?
