“Go Back To Division III Where You Belong!!”: Rex Ryan Humiliates NFL Head Coach In Brutal Fashion

In a scathing critique on ESPN’s “Get Up,” former NFL coach Rex Ryan did not mince words when expressing his thoughts on Chargers head coach Brandon Staley following Los Angeles’ 23-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

“He needs to go back to Division III where he belongs,” Ryan declared emphatically.

“Look at his resume, I’m sorry. Dude comes in there, one year as a coordinator of a team that my wife could coach … Second-highest payroll in the National Football League on defense and they’re the second worst. This team is atrocious!”

Ryan’s comments didn’t just call for Staley to be fired – they recommended a return to his coaching roots at the Division III level … Ouch!

Staley did indeed coach Division III football as the defensive coordinator and secondary coach at John Carroll University in Ohio in 2013 and 2015-16.

The former NFL head coach didn’t hold back on dissecting Staley’s coaching journey, particularly highlighting the one-year defensive coordinator stint with the Los Angeles Rams that raised Ryan’s eyebrows.

He was an outside linebackers coach with the Chicago Bears in 2017-18 and the Denver Broncos in 2019 before the one-year defensive coordinator stint with the Los Angeles Rams that Ryan was referring to.

Staley’s coaching trajectory led him to take over the Chargers in 2021, where he has compiled an extremely mediocre 23-21 overall record.

Based on how talented the Chargers are – especially with a quarterback who is borderline generational – it’s inexcusable for Los Angeles to perform as poor as they have.

Yes, some of that falls on the players … But everyone knows the majority of blame should fall on Staley’s incompetence.

He also didn’t do himself any favors by completely melting down at the postgame press conference…

Assuming the Bolts don’t go on a magical Super Bowl run, should Staley be fired at the end of the season?

Should he have been fired already?

Who should the Chargers look to replace him with … Bill Belichick?!?
