Former Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor Announces Transfer To Iowa

Former Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, a highly-rated recruit, is making a significant move by transferring to Iowa. Proctor, who started every game during his freshman season with the Crimson Tide, made the announcement on social media. He was even present at Iowa’s basketball game against No. 2 Purdue, showing his commitment to the Hawkeyes.

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Proctor had initially committed to play for Iowa during his high school days. However, in December 2022, he ended up signing with Alabama. His decision to enter the transfer portal came shortly after Alabama coach Nick Saban’s retirement and Kalen DeBoer’s appointment as his successor.

Standing at an impressive 6-foot-7 and weighing 360 pounds, Proctor made a name for himself as a standout player. He earned recognition by being selected for the SEC All-Freshman team by the conference’s coaches, a testament to his skills. ESPN had ranked him as the No. 10 overall recruit and the No. 2 offensive tackle prospect in the 2023 class.

Iowa, which has a history of producing NFL-caliber linemen, is an exciting destination for Proctor. While the Hawkeyes have faced some challenges on the offensive line recently, they have a strong tradition of developing top-notch talent. Notably, Iowa is yet to appoint an offensive coordinator to fill the void left by Brian Ferentz, the son of the long-time head coach Kirk Ferentz. Proctor’s arrival brings anticipation and potential to bolster the team’s offensive line.
