Following Heated Garrett Wilson Incident, Aaron Rodgers Blows Up Yet Again At Jets Practice

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was visibly frustrated following a practice incident that saw him taken to the ground.

Reports indicate that during a routine drill, Rodgers was inadvertently stepped on by a teammate, leading to an aggravated reaction from the veteran quarterback.

The incident occurred as Rodgers was engaged in a quarterback-center exchange when either Tippmann or Simpson, one of his offensive linemen, accidentally stepped on his foot.

This caused Rodgers to fall, intensifying his frustration given his recent history of injuries.

Notably, Rodgers’ outburst follows his heated exchange with star wide receiver Garrett Wilson…

As we all know, these type of exchanges are not only common in football, they’re encouraged – and rightfully so.

You want your players to be passionate and to challenge each other competitively … There’s a reason why Rodgers and Wilson ended their “disagreement” with a handshake.

Rodgers has made it clear that he believes Wilson can become the best wide receiver in the entire NFL.

“I told him in the meeting, I think he has the talent and the ability to be the best receiver in the league,” Rodgers told reporters at training camp.

Rodgers, who missed the entirety of the 2023 season due to a torn Achilles suffered in Week 1, is now focusing on the upcoming 2024 season with renewed hope.

Despite the setback, he remains optimistic about the Jets’ prospects.

“I’m always confident,” Rodgers stated during an interview on SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio. “As long as I’m on the field and performing at my best, we always have a chance.

“More than that, I believe we are among the few teams capable of winning a championship this year, which is incredibly exciting.”

Reflecting on the past year, Rodgers acknowledged the challenges faced both on and off the field.

“We encountered significant adversity last year, from injuries to external criticisms,” he said. “But during those tough times, we discovered our true character. I’m proud of how we stayed united and supported coaches Saleh and Hackett.

“There’s a strong sense of belief and urgency within the team. The pressure and expectations are always high in this league, but that’s part of the reality.”

The Jets will kick-off the 2024 season with a trip out west to take on Rodgers’ childhood team, the San Francisco 49ers.
