In the wake of the Chicago Bears decision to trade quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, all eyes are now on former USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who is widely expected to be drafted first overall by the Bears in next month’s draft.
While his Pro Day was underwhelming, most people don’t expect it will negatively affect his stock and appeal to the Bears.
Caleb Williams is talented but Overrated…It’s extremely RARE for any QB to throw a bad wide open pass on pro day. C’mon now…It’s only been 4/5 No. 1 picks in the past 20 years that’s actually lived up to half the hype they received..

Loyal Chicago Bears fans have been put through hell for the past few several years decades waiting for a legitimate winner.
Some believe Caleb Williams is the great hope they’ve all been waiting for. Some even believe that he is destined to go down as the greatest quarterback in Bears history.
While there certainly isn’t stiff competition for that honor, those are conversations that are best had years down the road.
So with a lack of talent on offense, bad OLine and bad defense, Caleb Williams regressed and became a shell of his potential. Sounds like he is ready to be a Bear!!

As talented as he is, Williams is far from a perfect prospect. Many feel that he has some concerning character and attitude flaws.
There have been multiple reports that add fuel to that fire. However, Williams has done his best to calm down that noise and convince teams (Chicago) that he’s all about football.
I'm with you, @JonesWEEI, he's just an emo Dak Prescott

However, his expected new teammate Jaylon Johnson has already issued an early warning that he better not bring any “Hollywood attitude” to Chicago if he is indeed drafted by the Bears.
“You just humble your stuff coming into the building. You can’t bring that Hollywood stuff into the building, especially with guys who played this game at a high level for consecutive years in the league,” he told Kay Adams on her “Up & Adams” show.
“What you did in college, the Hollywood, it’s like ‘Nah, you gotta prove yourself. That stuff like that doesn’t matter,’” he added.
“You can’t bring that Hollywood stuff into the building.”

“I think there’s a fine line between trying to prove a point to him but also getting to know him. At the end of the day, we want him to be the absolute best he can be. That’s what we’re bringing him in for, to win games,” he continued.
“Truly just learning who he is as a person and learning him deeper than just all the Hollywood stuff you see, but actually trying to learn and get to know him and then knowing from there what pushes him.”

Johnson, who recently inked a four-year extension with the Bears, emphasized the importance of humility and earning respect in the NFL, regardless of prior accolades or fame.
“You kinda hear all of the comparisons, the ‘generational talent’ and all that being thrown around. So I think, for me, just excited on that note of it,” he explained. “But I think, too, it’s hard to compare him to Patrick Mahomes and guys like that.”
“Patrick Mahomes didn’t come in right away and do what he’s been doing the last few years in his rookie year. It took him some time.”
“Just being patient with his progress, being patient with how he comes in and the mistakes he’s gonna make and the plays that he’s gonna make. He’s a very talented guy. He definitely does some things with his feet, he has plenty of arm talent, I feel like there’s not a throw that he can’t make.”
Caleb Williams will be the biggest bust ever

Johnson smartly played both sides of the fence. While making it clear that Williams better not bring any sort of diva-attitude to Chicago, he also recognized that he will (assumingly) be the quarterback, and everyone needs to support each other in order to win.
What are your thoughts on Johnson’s comments?
More importantly, what are your thoughts on Williams as a prospect?
Is he the “generational talent” that many are making him out to be? … Or do you think he will struggle to live up to the hype???
