The 2023 season for the Los Angeles Angels has been filled with challenges and disappointments. One of the most perplexing issues has been the extended absence of star third baseman, Anthony Rendon.
Despite mounting curiosity from fans and media, the team has provided no clear update on Rendon’s recovery, leaving everyone in suspense and frustration.
Rendon, who has been sidelined for a significant portion of the season due to a mysterious shin injury that landed him on the 60-day Injured List, has consistently avoided questions about his condition.
Reporters have attempted to gain any information they can from the elusive Rendon, but their efforts have been met with evasion and cryptic responses.
When asked by reporters for an update on his injury, Rendon, once again, refused to provide a straightforward answer. In a perplexing response, he quipped, “No habla inglés today,” which translates to “I don’t speak English today.”
According to Sam Blum of The Athletic, Rendon then donned a hoodie and swiftly departed from Anaheim’s clubhouse, leaving everyone in the dark.

Rendon’s absence from the lineup has been felt harshly by the Angels. The third baseman has made just 43 appearances this season and hasn’t played since July 4th, exacerbating concerns about the severity of his injury.
Since signing a ridiculous 7-year, $245 million contract with the team four years ago, Rendon has struggled to complete a full season, having made exactly 200 appearances for the Angels during that stretch.
Adding to the confusion, the Angels have ceased making head athletic trainer Mike Frostad available to the media this season, further limiting information about Rendon’s recovery.
Needless to say, Rendon is becoming more and more hated among Angels fans. With his horrendous attitude and constant unavailability, you have to wonder if his teammates are starting to feel that same hatred.
