Did Davante Adams (Mistakenly?) Leak That Tom Brady Will Be Coming Out Of Retirement To Play For The Raiders??

Appearing on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Las Vegas Raiders’ star receiver Davante Adams made some very interesting comments about Tom Brady.

Adams seemed to hint that the legendary quarterback might be coming out of retirement to join the Raiders.

Brady, widely regarded as the greatest quarterback in NFL history, retired nearly 18 months ago.

With seven Super Bowl titles and numerous passing records under his belt, Brady concluded his illustrious career in 2023.

His first retirement in 2022 lasted only 40 days, prompting speculation about another potential comeback.

Currently, Brady appears committed to his retirement.

Set to turn 47 soon, he is preparing to kick-off his broadcasting career where he is set to serve as FOX Sports’ lead color analyst on their “A-team” alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews.

By all accounts, Brady is taking his FOX responsibilities extremely serious. (A 10-year, $375 million contract will have that type of motivational effect.)

Having said that, we all know that Brady is itching to return to the field. No matter what he says publicly, we know deep down the thought of making yet another comeback has certainly crossed his mind.

It’s a thought that has crossed Adams’ mind as well…

“Tom knows how I feel about him,” Adams said during the podcast. “I think I’d be the first person to have played with both Tom and Aaron [Rodgers], so that would be pretty cool.”

Sharpe asked him point-blank if he would take Brady at such an old age: “You would take Tom Brady at 47, 48?” he asked.

“Hell, yes. I don’t care. 58. He’s getting older, but I mean he’s still got to be able to throw it better than half these dudes in the league,” Adams responded.

Considering how protected quarterbacks are in the modern-day NFL, there’s little doubt that Brady could still play at a high level.

Of course, there’s a possible roadblock for any return to the league due to his potential ownership stake in the Raiders (which is a situation many people are still not 100% clear on).

At the end of the day, as surprising as it might be to admit, it seems like Brady is indeed retired for good.

Unless anything truly crazy happens, he’ll be on the FOX call for the Cowboys-Browns Week 1 showdown on September 8.

As far as Adams, he spoke openly with Sharpe about several interesting topics – including his time with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers…

What are your thoughts on Adams’ comments?

Do you think there’s ANY chance Brady is planning yet another comeback? … Or has that shipped finally sailed for good?

There’s also plenty of speculation that Adams will soon be traded to the New York Jets where he would reunite with Rodgers … Can you see that happening???
