Perhaps we knew this day was eventually coming, but the legendary Tom Brady has finally admitted that he’s open to making yet another comeback to his passion project, aka the NFL.

Despite already retiring twice and insisting that his second retirement was 100% the final one, Brady admitted that he’s staying ready for another comeback.
Appearing on the “Deep Cut” podcast, host Vic Blends asked Brady point-blank if he would consider returning to the NFL, especially if a team reached out due to an injury to their starting quarterback.

“I’m not opposed to it. I don’t know if they are going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team. I’m always going to be in good shape. I’ll always be able to throw the ball,” Brady said.
“So, to come in for a little bit, like MJ [Michael Jordan] coming back, I don’t know if they would let me … But I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”

Brady would actually go on to name two teams in particular when painted a scenario…
“Let’s say one day there’s a situation. Maybe it’s the (San Francisco) 49ers, maybe you know headed to the playoffs, offense is great…,” Blends asked.
“Patriots … Could be Raiders, could be, you never know,” Brady answered.
"I think it's kind of sad but would I take him? 100%"

Maybe Brady was just playing around, especially considering the environment he was in. However, even discussing the topic with such detail was very much uncharacteristic of him.
We know he’s probably getting bored and certainly misses football.
Maybe he just wants to “keep his name out there” – but there’s nothing he said that wasn’t true … In a way, he will always be “ready” to play, especially with the NFL’s new quarterback-friendly rules.

Brady is set to begin his 10-year, $375 million broadcasting contract with FOX Sports. (Greg Olsen sure hopes Brady makes a comeback, huh?)
Brady has stated numerous times that he’s excited to enter the broadcasting world even though some doubt he’s going to be a good fit in the booth.
“I love having this challenge to try something different in my life. It’s going to challenge me in a lot of different ways,” he said of broadcasting.
“Tom Brady didn’t drop out of the sky a hall of fame quarterback, he MADE himself a hall of fame quarterback”

Whether true or not, there is widespread speculation that Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bundchen was the one who pushed him to retire the first time.
Many feel his decision to come back to the game he loves is what helped lead to his much-publicized divorce. And maybe in a way, led him to retire the second time to try and be there for his family.
Maybe that’s true. Maybe it isn’t. But most everyone was SHOCKED when he decided to retire from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year. Especially with the San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders said to be interested in him.

Brady’s “other” messy divorce came with the New England Patriots.
That divorce was even more publicized and owner Robert Kraft is thought to be terribly disappointed with how everything turned out.
Brady was like a son to Kraft, who is said to be kicking himself for allowing him to leave after head coach Bill Belichick convinced him he washed up.

No matter how serious Brady’s comments were, they had to be music to Kraft’s ear who is desperate to repair the relationship between the two (and in many ways already has).
With Belichick gone, the Patriots are staring directly down the barrel of what seems to be the longest and cruelest rebuild in the entire NFL.
Will Kraft explore the possibility of bringing Brady back to New England???

Brady’s whole ownership situation with the Las Vegas Raiders is still up in the air.
It would reportedly be an obstacle with his attempt to make a comeback. But there’s no reason why he can’t shelf it for a year or two, especially with how close he is to Mark Davis.
