Derrick Henry Addresses Notion Of Titans Hitting A Low Point Amid 3–7 Start

The Titans find themselves in a challenging position with a 3–7 start to the season, and the recent 34–14 defeat against the Jaguars has sparked discussions about hitting “rock bottom.” Running back Derrick Henry didn’t shy away from addressing the team’s struggles, expressing a candid and straightforward perspective.

Henry, reflecting on the tough situation, stated, “I don’t know what rock bottom feels like, but, woo … yeah, man, it’s tough, it’s definitely tough. But we just haven’t been good enough, I’m not making no excuse.”

The offensive woes were evident in the game against Jacksonville, with the Titans held scoreless in the first half, leading to a decisive 20-point loss. Even though Henry contributed 38 yards on 10 carries, it wasn’t enough to shift the momentum in their favor.

This loss adds to the Titans’ challenges, marking their third consecutive defeat and the fifth in the last six games. Coach Mike Vrabel has chosen to stick with rookie quarterback Will Levis, despite the return of former starter Ryan Tannehill from injury.

In terms of individual performance, Henry has accumulated 663 yards on 158 carries this season with four touchdowns. However, the 29-year-old running back is on pace for his lowest rushing yards, touchdowns, and yards per attempt over a full season (16-plus games) since 2018. The Titans face an uphill battle as they strive to turn their season around and overcome the hurdles that have led to their current predicament.
