Jerry Jones shocked the football world by deciding to keep Mike McCarthy as head coach.
Most people had assumed that McCarthy was surely a goner, especially after last Sunday’s nightmare debacle against the Green Bay Packers.
While most fans were praying that Jones would hire Bill Belichick, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III had a different name in mind.
He strongly suggested that Jones hire former Cowboys legend Deion Sanders as McCarthy’s replacement.
“You need Coach Prime. That’s right, Deion Sanders, Coach Prime,” Griffin said before the McCarthy news.
“Coach Prime knows how to win in Dallas. He knows what it takes to have a championship mindset. He knows how to hold guys accountable. And he is a culture changer.”

We now know that won’t be happening – and it was looked upon as extremely unrealistic from the start.
Regardless, Sanders told RGIII himself to knock off the Prime-to-Dallas talk … At least for now.
“You need to give up on it,” Sanders told Griffin on his RG3 and The Ones podcast. “The only scenario you could come up with right now is to throw my kids in. That’s the only thing you can do, and I know that’s where you were going because I know you.”

Sanders is one of the greatest players of all-time. He’s also one of the greatest self-promoters and hype-men of all-time as well.
However, when it comes to coaching, he still has a way to go in his development.
Despite making plenty of noise and headlines, Sanders’ 2023 season in charge of the Colorado Buffaloes was filled with many more lows than highs.

Coach Prime has previously stated that he has no interest in coaching in the NFL. He alluded to all of the divas in the league who can’t handle tough coaching as being a factor in his disinterest.
