Dan Haren Pens Courteous Letter To Ohtani With A Special Request

Former MLB standout, Dan Haren, has publicly showcased his admiration for Shohei Ohtani.

Haren, who was thrice named an All-Star and played for the Angels between 2010 and 2012, has purchased jerseys of both Ohtani and Mike Trout, hoping for autographs from the dynamic duo.

Taking to social media with a penned letter, Haren reached out, saying, “Mr. Ohtani, my name is Dan Haren,” and also tagging ex-Angels colleague Jered Weaver. His plea? “Can you please sign this jersey for my personal collection?”

To strengthen his connection, Haren highlighted his time on the field with Trout from 2011-12 and cited a unique record that ties him to Ohtani. Before Ohtani’s exceptional performance of four hits as a starting pitcher on May 15 this year, Haren held that distinction, accomplishing the feat with the D-backs back in 2010.

With Haren’s letter now public, fans are eager to see if he’ll soon have two signed jerseys to add to his collection.
