Dan Campbell Shares Thanksgiving Food Preferences, Stirring Conversation

As the Detroit Lions gear up for their Thanksgiving matchup, head coach Dan Campbell not only anticipates a victory on the field but also shared his Thanksgiving food preferences ahead of the holiday game.

Campbell, looking forward to the NFC North clash, revealed his holiday feast essentials. A self-proclaimed “big ham guy,” Campbell expressed his preference for ham as a “must-have” at his Thanksgiving table. However, he made it clear that turkey, unless fried, doesn’t make the cut for him. Additionally, Campbell dismissed the popular holiday dishes of dressing and cranberry, stating, “I’ll throw that right out to the dogs. Everything else, I’ll load it right on top of each other, full stack.”

While Campbell’s culinary preferences might spark some friendly debates, Detroit Lions fans are more focused on the team’s success. The Lions, with an impressive 8-2 record, are on the verge of achieving double-digit victories for the first time since 2014. Leading the division by a significant margin of 2.5 games, the Lions are in a strong position to secure their first division title since 1993.

This Thanksgiving, the Lions aim to break another streak by ending their six-game losing streak in Thanksgiving matchups. Facing the Green Bay Packers on Turkey Day, or as Campbell jokingly suggests, “Ham Day,” the Lions hope to replicate the success of their 40-10 victory over the Packers 10 years ago. The game is scheduled to kick off at 12:30 p.m. ET, marking the earliest of three Thursday matchups, and will be broadcast on Fox.
