College Football Recruiting Rankings: Georgia Secures Top Spot In 2024 Class On National Signing Day 2023

The early signing period for college football’s 2024 recruiting cycle saw the Georgia Bulldogs emerge as the top dogs. Coach Kirby Smart and his team secured the No. 1-ranked recruiting class on National Signing Day by flipping five-star defensive back KJ Bolden from Florida State, boosting their 247Sports class score to an impressive 315.33 points.

Georgia’s star-studded class includes 28 commits, with a remarkable 10 of them being among the top 100 prospects. Among these, four players boast a coveted five-star ranking in the 247Sports Composite. The group’s standout is IMG Academy cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, hailed as the No. 1 player in his position and the No. 3 overall talent in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.

Joining Robinson among the five-star ranks are KJ Bolden, Justin Williams, and Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, all of whom have already made significant waves in their respective positions. Bolden’s addition was especially remarkable, considering his flip from Florida State to Georgia at the opening of the early signing period.

Robinson, who stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 185 pounds, made his commitment in February, shortly after Georgia’s repeat national championship victory. Despite entertaining offers from Miami and Alabama, he remained true to his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Described by 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins as the ideal modern cornerback with impressive length and speed, Robinson’s two-year tenure at IMG Academy made him a challenging opponent for quarterbacks.

Williams, the second-highest ranked member of Georgia’s class at No. 9 overall, pledged to the Bulldogs in July. Like Robinson, he received 32 offers during his recruitment, showcasing his immense potential. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 205 pounds, Williams, from Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, Texas, earned the title of Defensive Player of the Year for his district in 2022.

Described as having limitless pursuit range, exceptional speed, and an uncanny ability to stay in plays due to sheer athleticism, Williams is poised to become a household name on the Bulldogs’ defense.

The full lineup in Georgia’s 2024 recruiting class can be seen below. To get a sense of just how deep this group is, 24 of the 28 players set to join the Bulldogs in this haul have at least a four-star rating in the 247Sports Composite. No other recruiting class for the 2024 cycle can say that, though Alabama is currently second with 20 commits boasting a four-start rating or higher in the 247Sports Composite.
