Carson Beck is stepping up this season for the Georgia Bulldogs, taking over the role that Stetson Bennett mastered in previous years.
Luckily for the Bulldogs, Beck seems eager and quick to learn.
Talking to reporters this week, Beck discussed a vital lesson he picked up from Bennett last year.
“A lot of people really hated on him a lot. You can see that all over the internet. He just maintained and kept his head down, kept going.”

“He faced a lot of criticism as a quarterback. It’s all over the internet. But he stayed focused, kept moving forward,” Beck mentioned, as per 247Sports. “That’s the main thing I got from him. Stay true to yourself and don’t get distracted by outside opinions. Just focus on your commitment to the game.”
In 2022, Bennett had an impressive run for the Bulldogs, making successful passes 68.3% of the time, covering 4,128 yards and scoring 27 touchdowns with only seven interceptions.
Beck, once a highly-rated new player, certainly has the potential to follow in Bennett’s footsteps. But, he has to show he’s up for the challenges in the SEC.
Georgia’s 2023 season starts on Sept. 2 against Tennessee-Martin.
