Kyler Murray’s 2023 Season in Jeopardy After Cardinals’ Trade Moves
Kyler Murray’s prospects of playing in the upcoming season look bleak following the Arizona Cardinals’ recent trading activities. Still recovering from a torn ACL sustained last December, speculation has grown about Murray missing all of 2023 after the Cardinals secured a new quarterback.
Several people around the league do not think Arizona Cardinals Kyler Murray will play this season.

In a notable trade, the Cardinals acquired Joshua Dobbs from the Cleveland Browns, parting with a 2024 late-round draft pick. As the new season rapidly approaches, the starting quarterback position remains undecided. While Colt McCoy is a potential frontrunner, David Blough, who was roped in post-Murray’s injury, is also in contention. Additionally, the offseason saw the Cardinals add Jeff Driskel to their roster.

With Dobbs’ arrival, decision-making becomes even more challenging. He previously played as Deshaun Watson’s backup in Cleveland. The Cardinals’ GM and offensive coordinator, Drew Petzing, who was formerly a quarterbacks coach with the Browns, are familiar with Dobbs, potentially giving him an edge.
In other strategic moves, the Cardinals have been active in stockpiling draft capital, securing several 2024 picks through a series of trades.
