The Miami Dolphins’ season is officially over. Things went the way most people expected them to this past Saturday night in frigid Kansas City.
The concern for Mike McDaniel’s team all year long was that they seemed like frontrunners. They looked downright unstoppable when playing at home on their fast grass against squads under .500.
But when playing contending teams, especially on the road, the script was flipped – which is exactly what happened against the defending champion Chiefs.
You’ll have to excuse Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill if he seemed a bit distracted during the leadup to the game.
Most people know that Hill’s mansion in Florida caught on fire in early January. Luckily no one was hurt.
However, the mansion itself was severely damaged according to Hill.

During a recent episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks, Hill was captured telling his teammates about the incident.
He explained the extent of the damage, stating: “It’s done. Smoke damage, fire damage. The whole upstairs is burnt down.”

TMZ reported that the fire resulted in a staggering $2.3 million in property damages, with an additional $1 million worth of belongings lost in the blaze.
A police report attributed the fire to a small child playing with a lighter.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the media at the time, expressing empathy for Hill’s situation.
“It’s a life adjustment, immediately. That’s your safe place, your home that he is now dealing with … It’s a major stressor for sure. Thankfully, Reek has the support of his family and his teammates. It’s not something that you wish upon anyone. It was definitely scary,” McDaniel said.
The 29-year-old receiver narrowly missed breaking Calvin Johnson’s regular-season receiving record but led the NFL with an impressive 1,799 receiving yards.
Additionally, he tied with Amon-Ra St. Brown for the league’s second-most catches (119), trailing only CeeDee Lamb … He also added 13 touchdowns.

Fair or unfair, many people chalked the house fire up to karma.
Hill of course has had his fair share of brushes with the law.
Tyreek Hill on Patriots fans.
“Those fans are some of the worst fans in the NFL”
“Real nasty”
FYI Tyreek Hill plead guilty to beating up and choking his pregnant girlfriend in college.
