According to reports, Gisele Bündchen has broken up with her boyfriend and jiu-jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente.
While the two have yet to publicly address the reports, the breakup was allegedly caused by the trauma Valente felt from the recent Tom Brady Roast.
The harsh jokes and all of the extra attention that came with it all was allegedly too overwhelming for Valente.
“The spotlight was too much,” an insider revealed to InTouch Weekly.
“Joaquim’s a regular guy,” the insider continued. “He’s not used to all the attention he was getting.”
The exact timing of their split remains unclear, but Bündchen, 43, and Valente, 34, haven’t been seen together since late April.
The insider indicated that the situation worsened following Brady’s Netflix special, which featured numerous jokes about the couple’s relationship.
“Joaquim became part of the joke. People actually started asking him if he was the reason for their divorce,” the insider added. “He hated that.”
Gisele reportedly blames the breakup on Brady, whom she divorced in 2022.
“By agreeing to do the roast, he basically put a target on Joaquim’s back,” the insider said.
During the roast, comedians Kevin Hart and Nikki Glaser made repeated references to Bündchen and Valente’s relationship.
“How much would it suck for Tom… just knowing your ex-wife’s new boyfriend could beat your ass while eating hers,” Glaser joked at the roast.
Glaser also joked that the only thing “dumber” than Brady agreeing to do the roast was telling Bündchen to “try jiu-jitsu.”
Another jab was about Brady’s Super Bowl rings, with Glaser saying, “You have seven rings… well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”
Following the roast, sources told People that Gisele felt “deeply disappointed” by the “irresponsible” jokes.
Gisele, who shares son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11, with Brady, felt her ex “once again put football before his family.”
Brady later acknowledged his regret, stating that he “didn’t like” how his family was “affected” by the jokes and wouldn’t participate in a similar event again.
Bündchen and Brady announced their split in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage.
Just a month after their divorce, Bündchen and Valente were spotted together in Costa Rica with her children, though their relationship was initially described as “strictly platonic and professional.”
In February, Page Six revealed that their relationship had turned romantic.
“They’re deeply in love,” an insider shared with Page Six, noting that their romance began in the summer of 2023.
Gisele strongly denied allegations that her relationship with Valente overlapped with her marriage to Brady.
“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” she told the New York Times.
“No one really knows what happens between two people, only the two people in the relationship.”
