Breaking News: Green Bay Packers Add Promising Running Back To Enhance Playoff Bid

The Green Bay Packers are making moves to strengthen their offense as they push for a playoff spot. Veteran running back Kenyan Drake is joining the Packers’ practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Drake, who spent time on the practice squads of the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, and Cleveland Browns earlier this season, brings his speed and experience to Green Bay.

While Drake appeared in two games for the Ravens this year, his playing time was limited, with just one carry and three targets, resulting in two receptions. His standout season came in 2020 as a member of the Arizona Cardinals when he rushed for 955 yards and 10 touchdowns, adding 25 receptions for 137 receiving yards. In both 2018 and 2019, he surpassed 1,000 yards from scrimmage, splitting his time between the Miami Dolphins and the Cardinals.

Now, the Alabama product joins a Green Bay team that is riding a three-game winning streak, placing them in the NFC’s final playoff spot with a 6-6 record. With A.J. Dillon and Aaron Jones forming a dynamic rushing duo, it remains to be seen how much playing time Drake will secure if he is promoted to the 53-man roster.

Kenyan Drake boasts a career total of 3,866 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns, along with 218 receptions for 1,655 receiving yards and eight rushing scores.

The Packers aim to extend their winning streak to four games as they face the New York Giants on Monday night next week.
