Breaking News: Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Tears ACL in Practice, Out for Season

The Dallas Cowboys have been hit hard with another injury, as rookie wide receiver David Durden will miss the upcoming season due to a confirmed ACL tear during Wednesday’s practice.

This unfortunate news comes shortly after tight end John Stephens Jr. and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown also suffered torn ACLs in a preseason clash against the Seattle Seahawks, marking Durden as the third Dallas rookie with this injury.

At 24, Durden joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent this year. He played at Mercer for two years and then transitioned to West Florida for three years.

The Cowboys’ wide receiver group is led by standout CeeDee Lamb, the newly acquired Brandin Cooks, and proven receiver Michael Gallup. Other notable names in the lineup include sophomore Jalen Tolbert and rookie Jalen Brooks.

After registering 12 wins in consecutive seasons, the Cowboys were eliminated by the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs last year.

The Cowboys’ preseason concludes with a game against the Las Vegas Raiders this Saturday. They’ll then have a break before facing NFC East rivals, the New York Giants, on “Sunday Night Football” to kick off their regular season.
