BREAKING NEWS: According To A Report, Urban Meyer Will Interview For Michigan State’s HC Opening

You could make the argument that Urban Meyer is the greatest college football coach of all-time not named Nick Saban.

You may not agree with that statement – but again, you could certainly make the argument.

At only 59 years old, many are wondering if/when Meyer will come back to the coaching world.

Yes, he’s had health scares (although many feel some of them have been exaggerated). Regardless, if Meyer every does feel the itch to return, you can bet there will be more than a few interested suitors in him.

According to a new report, the Michigan State Spartans are not only interested in Meyer, but they are set to interview him for their vacant head coaching position.

“My best mole tells me Urban Meyer will interview with Michigan State for their HC position. Stay tuned. Yes, it’s real. It’s possible. He has a lot of backers, so we’ll see where this goes,” FOX Sports Radio host Bernie Fratto reported.

“I’m told he’s in East Lansing this week… That said, no one is predicting this will happen. Not yet. There IS mutual interest and he’s going to get an interview per my best moles… Either way, this ordeal is good for our business,” Fratto added.

If you’re like me, then you’re not exactly sold on this report … yet.

I’m sure Meyer has the itch to return to the sidelines, however it’s strange to envision him taking the Michigan State job.

Fellow FOX Sports Radio host, and Notre Dame legend, Brady Quinn shot down Fratto’s report…

“I’ve heard otherwise… but I’m sure you’re better connected.”

Whether you believe the report or not, it predictably went viral on social media … And there were very wide-ranging opinions on the matter…

“This would be awesome.. a program with a rich history of covering up crimes from the basketball and football programs (let’s not forget larry nassar) is hiring a coach with a history of the same, after firing the current coach for it … It’s really the perfect match.”

“Knowing what Michigan State condones, this does surprise me. An absolute match.”

“Make it happen MSU!”

“I’m sure he’s going to leave a $7,000,000.00 a year job working 20 days to move to EL and works 15 hours a day 365 days a year. Makes sense.”

“If they hire him it will be a mistake. The guy is done and should stay in the pasture that he was placed in.”

“Urban to MSU is the most not happening thing to ever be not happening in the history of things not happening.”

What do you think about Fratto’s report?

Is it a whole bunch of BS?

Or do you think there’s actually mutual interest between Meyer and Michigan State?
