BREAKING: Deion Sanders And Colorado Buffaloes Secure SEC Transfer Quarterback

Walter Taylor, one of the three quarterbacks from Vanderbilt who entered the transfer portal after the 2023 season, has made his decision on his next football destination.

Taylor, who had limited playing time at Vanderbilt, has chosen to join the Big 12 conference alongside Colorado for the upcoming season. His new home will be in Boulder, where he will reunite with former Vanderbilt wide receiver Will Sheppard under the guidance of head coach Deion Sanders.

Taylor becomes the 13th player to make the move to Colorado via the transfer portal.

Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 235 pounds, Taylor is set to become a part of the Colorado program, which posted a 4-8 record in 2023 under the leadership of first-year coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders, who served as the quarterback last year, is expected to retain his starting role in 2024, as he has just one season of eligibility left.

Hailing from Jackson, Taylor saw action in five games for the Commodores during his redshirt freshman year in 2023. He enters Colorado with three seasons of eligibility still in hand.

While his playing time at Vanderbilt was limited, Taylor managed to complete five of 15 passes for 44 yards with one interception in 2023. He also contributed on the ground, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown on 30 attempts.
