Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who won two Super Bowl’s as Tom Brady’s backup in New England, has been suspended for two games after violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The violation reportedly stems from Garoppolo’s use of a prescribed medication without obtaining a valid therapeutic use exemption from the league.
Garoppolo has chosen not to appeal the suspension and will consequently miss the first two games of the upcoming 2024 season.

However, it appears unlikely that he will continue with the Raiders beyond his suspension.
The Raiders are anticipated to release Garoppolo before the fifth day of the new league year in mid-March, foregoing an $11.25 million roster bonus he would have received.
The expected decision to part ways with Garoppolo reflects a shift in leadership within the Raiders organization, with Antonio Pierce now serving as head coach and Tom Telesco as general manager.
Unlike their predecessors, there is no allegiance to Garoppolo, paving the way for the team to explore other quarterback options.

The Raiders may look to address the quarterback position through the draft, with speculation mounting that they could trade up from their current #13 pick.

For Garoppolo, this marks a period of uncertainty as he seeks his third team in as many seasons.
After playing for the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, he joined the Raiders as a free agent in 2023.
While Garoppolo will be permitted to participate in all offseason activities and training camp with any new team, he will be ineligible to play for the first two weeks of the regular season due to the suspension, in accordance with NFL regulations.

What are your thoughts on the suspension?
Where do you think Jimmy G will end up landing?
Are his days as a legitimate starting quarterback over? … Or do you think he can bounce back play at a high level???
