Andrew Wiggins Injured Index Finger In Unusual Accident This Morning

Injuries can strike even the best athletes, and the Golden State Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins is no exception.

Wiggins will be sidelined tonight due to an unusual mishap – he jammed his index finger in a car door this morning.

Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr anticipated Wiggins’ absence, noting that it’s likely to be a short-term injury.

Despite some struggles this season, Wiggins recently delivered an impressive performance with 29 points and 10 rebounds in a close loss to the Sacramento Kings.

For the season, his stats have dipped, averaging a career-low 12.8 points, 1.2 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game. His shooting percentages have also declined, with 43.3% from the field, 26.7% from beyond the arc, and 59.3% from the free-throw line.

The Warriors, currently standing at 8-10 and 11th in the Western Conference, will face the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
