Alvin Kamara Facing Potential Devastating Suspension For Nightclub Attack

New Orleans Saints star running back, Alvin Kamara, has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of breach of peace stemming from his alleged involvement in a fight in Las Vegas last year.

Initially facing more severe charges, including conspiracy to commit battery and felony battery with substantial bodily harm, Kamara and several others were indicted in February following the incident, which occurred during the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl weekend at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

As part of the plea agreement, Kamara has been ordered to complete 30 hours of community service and compensate the alleged victim over $100,000 for medical expenses.

However, this may not mark the end of his legal consequences. Analysts suggest that Kamara’s plea could clear the way for the NFL to determine potential disciplinary actions against him.

“Saints RB Alvin Kamara is still subject to a possible suspension by the NFL, which has punished several players in the past even when they weren’t convicted or charges were dropped,” said Saints insider Mike Triplett. “But this should pave the way for the league to hand out discipline.”

In response to inquiries about Kamara’s case, the NFL issued a statement on Tuesday, saying, “We have been closely monitoring all developments in the matter, which remains under review.”

The league’s policy states that players must adhere to a higher standard of conduct, regardless of criminal guilt. Convictions or dispositions of criminal proceedings can lead to disciplinary actions by the league.

Kamara, who has spent his entire six-year NFL career with the Saints, has been a key contributor to the team’s success.

With 5,135 rushing yards and 49 rushing touchdowns, he has proven himself as a formidable force on the ground. Additionally, Kamara has accumulated 3,753 career receiving yards, further solidifying his impact on the team’s offensive prowess.

Should the NFL decide to suspend Kamara, it would greatly disrupt the Saints upcoming season, particularly as they prepare to have new quarterback Derek Carr take the helm.

Do you think Kamara should be suspended?
