In baseball, as much as any other sport, there’s a certain magical level that a team can reach (2004 Red Sox) where there is just no stopping them.

They wasted no time jumping on the Arizona Diamondbacks in last night’s euphoric 10-0 victory.
Citizen’s Bank Park was rocking all night long as the Phillies extended their series lead to 2-0 behind a flawless performance in every single phase of the game.
Slugger Kyle Schwarber was the main offensive maestro, smashing two home runs off Arizona pitcher Merrill Kelly.

Adding to the offensive onslaught was J.T. Realmuto’s robust performance with two hits and three RBIs further solidified Philadelphia’s commanding lead.
Meanwhile, the Phillies’ ace pitcher, Aaron Nola, delivered a masterclass on the mound, striking out seven batters and limiting the Diamondbacks to a mere three hits across six stellar innings.

The atmosphere at the ballpark reached a fever pitch as the Philadelphia faithful vehemently jeered Kelly, spurred by the pitcher’s earlier comments where he doubted Phillies fans’ ability to match the energy of the World Baseball Classic.
Reflecting on the intense response from the crowd, Trea Turner likened the stadium’s noise to that of an “AC/DC concert.”
Phillies manager Rob Thomson recounted a sentiment from a rival coach, who described a playoff game in Philly as “four hours of hell.”
Turner’s explosive first-inning home run only fueled the crowd’s unmatchable energy and excitement – and certainly set the tone for the night.
As the series shifts to Arizona for Game 3 on Thursday, many Phillies fans think that it’s an inevitability that Philly will be moving onto the World Series … And they’re probably right.
