Alabama Star Takes Indirect Shot At Julian Sayin

Alabama cornerback Domani Jackson has shed light on his decision to join the Crimson Tide, despite the retirement of long-time head coach Nick Saban.

Jackson, who transferred from USC in the offseason, expressed his enthusiasm for playing at a program he has always admired.

“Truthfully, the A doesn’t change,” Jackson said. “It’s still a powerhouse in college football. I just wanted to have a change and reset my college career. I just felt like this was the best opportunity for me.”

Jackson, who committed to Alabama while Saban was still at the helm, decided to stay with the program even after Saban’s retirement.

He now plays under new head coach Kalen DeBoer, who came over to Tuscaloosa from Washington.

“I played against them,” Jackson said of DeBoer’s Huskies. “I knew what they were capable of. You could just go down his road as a winning coach. I knew the coaches he was going to bring in were going to be great.”

During his final season at USC, Jackson recorded 25 solo tackles and defended three passes.

While some Alabama players (such as quarterback Julian Sayin) were eager to leave Tuscaloosa once Saban stepped down, Jackson made it clear that the Crimson Tide program is more important than any one individual.

Of course, that’s not taking anything away from the greatest coach in college football history.

The 2024 season is shaping up to be a pivotal one. With Kalen DeBoer stepping in as the new head coach, the Crimson Tide are looking to maintain their dominant status in the sport.

Jackson is expected to be a key player for Alabama, joining a squad that includes Heisman Trophy-contending quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Milroe, who threw for 2,834 yards and 23 touchdowns last season, is expected to be a major force for the Crimson Tide. He guided Alabama to a College Football Playoff appearance before falling to Michigan in the semi-finals.

Milroe is among several Alabama players receiving preseason accolades.

He is listed as a third-team All-SEC selection, alongside running back Justice Haynes. Offensive lineman Tyler Booker has earned first-team honors. With such talent on board, Alabama fans are optimistic for another successful season.

The Crimson Tide will kick off the 2024 season on August 31 against Western Kentucky. Their schedule includes challenging SEC matchups against Georgia, Missouri, and LSU.

What are your thoughts on Jackson’s comments and his decision to stay at Alabama???
