REPORT: Dak Prescott Might Soon Sign The LARGEST Contract In NFL HISTORY … But Is He Worth It??

The Dallas Cowboys were extremely fortunate to escape AT&T Stadium with a win on Saturday.

The whole country knows damn well just how horrendous the Detroit Lions got screwed. Regardless, a win is a win is a win – and Saturday goes down as a win for the Boys who improved to 11-5 on the season.

With a victory over the rival Washington Commanders on Sunday, Dallas will win the NFC East.

Most people still have their doubts that the Cowboys can go on a deep playoff run. Simply put, they have let their fans down year after year after year … Maybe this year will be different – but there are plenty of worrying signs are we near the postseason.

One of the real bright spots for the Boys this season has been quarterback Dak Prescott. While far from perfect, he has put together a very strong season and has taken an enormous leap with his leadership.

Prescott, who has one year left on his existing four-year, $160 million contract signed in 2021, is expected to soon become an even richer man.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, both Prescott and owner Jerry Jones are “highly motivated” to hammer out a long-term deal which may see Dak sign the most lucrative contract in NFL history.

“He’s going to get between $55 and $60 million,” Schultz recently said on FS1. “We’ve already seen Joe Burrow get that 55 number. Dak Prescott has an opportunity to reset it. Both sides are highly motivated. Don’t forget, he has a no-trade and no-tag clause. He has all the leverage. There’s no question that Dak and Dallas, Jerry want to get that done.”

Currently, Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow holds the record for the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history at $55 million per year … As Schultz said, Prescott could potentially eclipse that mark.

“He’ll be right in that class. Over the last eight games, 25 total touchdowns, and two picks. He’s playing like an MVP. He has an opportunity to win a Super Bowl. And he is a Dallas Cowboys quarterback in the same sentence as Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. We don’t see great quarterbacks go to free agency. That’s not going to happen,” Schultz said.

For the season, Prescott has thrown for 4,237 yards, 32 touchdowns, 8 interceptions – and has added another two scores on the ground.

But of course, plenty of Cowboy fans are still hesitant to buy into the idea of a legitimate Super Bowl run…

While it’s true that salaries, especially for quarterbacks, are going to keep going up and up and up – do you think Prescott deserves to be the highest paid player in the league?

Of course, that title would only be temporary since another quarterback would surely pass him, but is Prescott worth THAT kind of money?

Where do you rank him among the top quarterbacks in the NFL?

Will he lead the Cowboys to the Super Bowl this season???
