Following the Miami Dolphins shocking loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football, Fins wide receiver Tyreek Hill revealed that he received a halftime text from his wife that played a pivotal role in his decision to return to the field following his concerning first half injury.
Hill shared the details during his post-game press conference, saying: “I came in at halftime, I text my wife. She was like, ‘You better get your ass back in the game.’”
Lol at this part of Tyreek Hill's answer: "I came in at halftime, I texted my wife, I was like, ‘Bro, this (expletive) hurt. I need an ankle massage tonight.' And she’s like, ‘You’d better get your ass back in that game, dawg.’ I was like, ‘All right.’" https://t.co/AS3kMqhCLb

As hilarious as that revelation was, many people around the league wondered if his text conversation was actually allowed…
The NFL has specific guidelines regarding injured players communicating with family members or significant others during games.
According to league regulations, players are allowed to use the locker-room telephone or their personal cell phones for the sole purpose of updating their family members about their injury status and providing logistical information about treatment or relocation to another medical facility.
Both voice calls and text messages are permitted under these rules.

However, there are strict stipulations in place to ensure that such communications do not involve competitive or strategic information.
The NFL mandates that any such conversations must take place in the presence of a designated team official, typically the team doctor.
In the case of text messages, it is presumed that the team representative must be able to see the contents of the messages.
Despite the eyebrow-raising nature of Hill’s revelation, it appears that the rules were not violated.
The NFL is yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but Hill’s disclosure has undoubtedly added a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing conversations around player interactions during games and the enforcement of league rules.

However, at the end of the day, this doesn’t seem like a big deal at all.
It’s not like a competitive advantage was gained. After all, Miami lost the game!
Taking a step back, what do you think of the Dolphins from a team perspective.
As dominant as they CAN be at times, do you fully trust them???
You get the sense that they are just missing something, and when push comes to shove, they just aren’t on that truly elite level yet – especially if they have to play on the road in the playoffs…
What do you think???
