In a surprising move, Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who just a month ago evaded questions about his future with the Sooners, has officially entered the transfer portal.
Gabriel initially played coy about his plans for the 2024 season…
“I try not to (think about it), honestly,” Gabriel told reporters last month. “Like I said, God’s got a plan for the future. It’ll all play out. I’m not trying to create any, ‘Will he do this, do that,’ if I had an answer, I would tell you.”
Despite his earlier reluctance to disclose his intentions, Gabriel has decided to explore his options, and there’s already a frontrunner in the race to secure the talented quarterback.

The Oregon Ducks, who narrowly missed out on a Pac-12 title last weekend with quarterback Bo Nix leading the charge, are now actively seeking to fill the void that will be left by Nix’s upcoming departure to the NFL.

In his college career (UCS and Oklahoma), Gabriel has thrown for nearly 15,000 yards to go along with 125 touchdown passes (and 26 more on the ground).
Anyone who’s seen Gabriel play knows he’d be a perfect fit with Dan Lanning’s Ducks.
