Paul Finebaum: Nick Saban Was Displeased With Auburn’s Saturday Defeat

The Auburn Tigers are approaching the highly anticipated Iron Bowl matchup this Saturday on the back of an unexpected and disappointing loss to New Mexico State, marking a surprising turn of events in Hugh Freeze’s inaugural season as head coach.

While Alabama fans might have found amusement in Auburn’s misfortune, ESPN’s college football analyst, Paul Finebaum, suggests that Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide’s head coach, might have been more irked by the situation. Finebaum humorously speculates, “He probably walked in his house and kicked the door… Why do I always have to go to Auburn when nobody cares about the game? For Alabama, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Jordan-Hare Stadium has been his Waterloo.”

Indeed, facing a rival after a loss is far from an ideal scenario. Nevertheless, Finebaum remains optimistic about Auburn’s future, asserting, “I am suggesting that I think the program is in pretty good shape. I am not going to melt down on this.”

The Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn is scheduled for kickoff at 3:30 p.m. E.T. this Saturday, promising another chapter in this storied rivalry.
