Saturday marked non-conference matchups for most SEC teams, offering some lopsided victories. In the midst of these games, South Carolina faced Kentucky in a conference showdown, emerging triumphant with a 17-14 win.
However, head coach Shane Beamer expressed discontent with the fan turnout, specifically calling out the student section for not staying throughout the entire game.
.@CoachSBeamer to the student section:
“If I can nitpick a little bit: Cockpit, we love you! But, if you’re gonna come, please stay for the whole game…
That end zone was amazing, but we don’t need empty seats in a four quarter dog fight like that in our student section.” pic.twitter.com/rY7axEsx69

Beamer acknowledged the love for the Cockpit (student section) but emphasized the importance of having a full and supportive crowd, especially in closely contested four-quarter battles like the one against Kentucky.
Despite the crowd concerns, South Carolina’s victory propelled them to a 5-6 season record.
