“Sandlot” Star’s Mother Brutally Murdered In California

If you’re like me, the film “The Sandlot” holds a special place in your heart.

It’s as nostalgic as it gets and is a true slice of Americana.

Unfortunately, tragedy has struck one of the actors in the film.

The mother of Marty York (who played Alan “Yeah-Yeah” McClennan in the film) was murdered in Northern California.

The mother, Deanna Esmaeel, was a Del Norte County Sheriff Deputy.

A suspect, Daniel James Walter, was apprehended and booked into the Curry County Jail.

Walter, who had recently changed his name to Edward Patrick Davies, had been the subject of a manhunt after the authorities found evidence linking him to the crime scene.

Despite his last sighting in Crescent City, California, the suspect was captured in Curry County, Oregon, which is approximately 70 miles away from the location of the tragic incident.

Before the arrest, Marty York, in a heartfelt Instagram post, shared the devastating news, stating: “I found out from the sheriff department last night that my mother was murdered by a man she was seeing.”

His emotional plea urged his followers to reach out to the authorities if they had any information about the suspect.

“I just want my mom back,” York added.

Deanna Esmaeel, a dedicated member of the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office, had been sworn in as a deputy in 2021.

Her commitment to law enforcement was highlighted in a previous Facebook post by the office, where they documented her journey into the profession.

The office quoted her saying: “It’s time for me to take everything I have learned in my life and help other people.”
