DEVELOPING: Severe Punishment About To Be Handed Down To Rashee Rice Which Could Drastically Alter Chiefs Draft Plans … What Will Happen??

Not much has gone wrong for the Kansas City Chiefs since their shocking loss to the rival Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day.

Immediately after winning their second-straight Super Bowl, they instantly turned their attention towards building towards what would be a historic three-peat.

However, the recent incident involving wide receiver Rashee Rice has certainly thrown a monstrous wrench into the good-vibe party.

There’s no excusing Rice’s idiotic behavior which led to him inexplicably leaving the scene of a six-car accident on a Dallas highway last month.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Rice is anticipated to be disciplined by the NFL, possibly resulting in a multi-game suspension.

Schefter highlighted the potential impact of Rice’s suspension, suggesting that the Chiefs may seek additional depth at wide receiver in this week’s NFL Draft.

The incident, which occurred in March, saw Rice and another driver allegedly involved in a collision that affected six vehicles.

Rice ended up turning himself in to authorities.

While the NFL typically allows legal proceedings to unfold before handing out punishment, Rice will almost certainly face disciplined.

It’s not a question of if – but when, and how harsh…

Rice, a former standout at SMU where he earned first-team All-AAC honors in 2022, was drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of last year’s NFL Draft.

Rice was spectacular in his rookie season. He hauled in 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.

Most importantly, he was an impactful weapon for quarterback Patrick Mahomes throughout the Chiefs Super Bowl run.

At just 23 years old, Rice undoubtedly has a bright future if he’s able to keep his act together.

Everyone makes mistakes … But the mistake Rice made simply can’t happen. His recklessness could have easily cost himself and/or innocent people their lives.

Needless to say, Rice is not nearly out of the woods yet.

Hopefully he’s learned a valuable lesson. But he still has to deal with the legal consequences as well as whatever punishment Roger Goodell and the NFL hand down to him.

What are your thoughts on the ugly situation?

What punishment does Rice deserve?

Getting back to actual football for a second, what should the Chiefs do in the draft???
