WATCH: John Sterling Reveals His Much-Anticipated HR Call For Juan Soto & The Baseball World Absolutely Loves It…

Fresh off sweeping the rival Houston Astros, the New York Yankees are off to one of their best starts in franchise history.

We may only be four games into the season, but these four games couldn’t have gone much better for Aaron Boone and the Bombers.

A major reason for the fast start is undoubtedly the dominant performance of superstar slugger Juan Soto.

The MVP candidate arrived in New York with sky-high expectations. Potentially in-line for a historic contract, the 2024 season is off to a sizzling start for the 25-year-old.

Showing his value in the outfield, and certainly at the plate, Soto is on-pace to “earn his pinstripes” faster than any Yankee in history.

Again, we’re only four games into what is a marathon of a season. However, Yankees fans are finding it impossible to curb their excitement over Soto.

One of Soto’s highlights over the weekend came on Saturday when he crushed his first home run of the season.

The seventh-inning solo shot gave the Bombers a 4-3 lead over Houston and would prove to be the deciding blow in the 5-3 victory.

With it being his first home run as a Yankee, the baseball world was treated to the unveiling of John Sterling’s home run call for Soto.

Sterling, the longtime radio voice of the Yankees, is well-known for his entertaining and creative home run calls.

Usually corny on purpose, Sterling’s call for Soto didn’t disappoint…

“And the pitch hit in the air down the left field line toward the wall — it’s gone. It went over the high wall,” Sterling exclaimed. “Juan Soto’s first home run as a Yankee, a fly ball down the left field line.”

“There is a Soto photo, a home run into the left-field seats. He’s Juanderful, marvelous,” playfully singing the last three words. “And the Yankees have now taken a 4-3 lead.”

While the reference to “Juanderful, marvelous” left some listeners puzzled, it appears to be a nod to the 1920’s song “‘S Wonderful” by George Gershwin, aligning perfectly with Sterling’s penchant for creative wordplay.

Reflecting on the win, Soto expressed his excitement, stating: “Winning the way we’ve been winning these games is incredible.”

Teammate Oswaldo Cabrera praised Soto’s impact, both on and off the field, highlighting his exceptional character and talent.

“He’s not just a good baseball player; outside of the field, he’s an amazing person too. Everybody loves that guy inside and outside of the field. But when we are in the cage, I’m like a kid just watching a big hero,” Cabrera remarked.

What are your thoughts on Sterling’s home run call for Soto?

Do you have a favorite Sterling-ism of all-time?

What do you make of the Yankees red-hot start? … Do you look at them as legitimate (and I mean legitimate) World Series contenders?

Or is this fast start just a bit of fool’s gold???
