The New York Jets are intensifying efforts to bolster their pass-rush attack ahead of the upcoming season, reportedly setting their sights on defensive standout Jadeveon Clowney.
With aspirations of making a deep playoff run, the Jets are described as “highly motivated” to add Clowney to their already-impressive defense.
I’ll use my words this time re: Clowney. My source, who has not missed this offseason, seems pretty fucking confident he signs here. Could he be using the #Jets as leverage to bolster an offer from Baltimore? Perhaps. But from New Yorks side of the table, they are confident.

The Jets are effectively looking to “run-it-back” in 2024 after their season was derailed on opening night last September when quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon.
With Rodgers expected to return to full health, Gang Green hopes they can pick up where they left off last training camp when hopes were sky-high.

Despite already boasting one of the league’s top defenses, the Jets are eyeing the three-time Pro Bowler to help take them to an even higher level.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, the two sides are already in negotiations, hinting that a deal could potentially come soon.

Clowney spent last season with the Baltimore Ravens.
He was an impressive piece of one of the league’s best defenses as he tallied 43 tackles, 9.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and 19 quarterback hits.
Notably, Pro Football Focus ranked him the 19th-best edge rusher for the season.
Update: #Jets are “closing in” on signing former #Ravens OLB Jadeveon Clowney, per source.

“Clowney set career highs in pass-rush win rate and pressure rate while finishing ninth among all edge players in run-stop rate (9.6%),” noted PFF’s Lauren Gray.
“He led Baltimore’s edge group in total pressures (78), stops (28), and tackles for loss or no gain (seven).”

The Jets pursuit of Clowney stems from the departure of key defensive players, including Bryce Huff and Carl Lawson.
While Clowney has never quite lived up to the massive hype he had coming out of South Carolina, he has led a very solid NFL career.
At 31-years-old, Clowney still has good football ahead of him.
(Or does he???)
Why do Jets fans want clowney he trash 🚮

What do you think of the Jets reported interest in Clowney?
Do you think New York is indeed the best spot for him?
What type of contract is he deserving of at this stage in his career?
While we’re on the topic, what do you expect out of Rodgers next season? … Can he still play at an MVP-level, or are those days long gone???
