REPORT: Packers Looking To Make Jordan Love One Of The Highest Paid Players In NFL HISTORY … But Has He Truly Earned It Yet??

Heading into the 2023 offseason, uncertainty surrounded the Green Bay Packers regarding Jordan Love’s status as their long-term solution at quarterback.

With long-time starter Aaron Rodgers finally out of the way, head coach Matt LaFleur and the Packers front office decided they were going to give one full season for Love to prove himself.

Fast forward to now, many people believe he’s done just that and has shown himself to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Packers have been so impressed with Love that they are expected to give him a brand-new contract extension which will make him one of the highest paid players in the league.

The 2023 season wasn’t always smooth for Love – but he sure played great down the stretch.

As a matter of fact, you could make the argument that Love and the Packers outplayed the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round and should have won the game.

Schefter explained the situation on ESPN.

“He’s going to want to get a deal done, they’re going to want to get a deal done,” he said.

“And if and when they both get together to get that deal done in May, or shortly thereafter, it is expected to make him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the game because that’s the way that he played and they’re going to want to lock him up and make sure that he’s not leaving Green Bay,” he added.

Love’s stellar 2023 season saw him finish second in the NFL in touchdown passes with 32, rank fifth in passing efficiency, and ninth in QBR.

He led the Packers to nine regular season wins and a commanding Wild Card victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Despite Love’s impressive performance, there is a cautious sentiment within the Packers organization.

With Love under contract through 2024, there is a hesitancy to immediately make him one of the league’s highest-paid quarterbacks.

Do you think Love has proven enough to warrant such a contract?

For example, they’ll never admit it publicly, but it would be foolish to think that the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t having second thoughts over the massive, record-breaking deal they gave quarterback Jalen Hurts last offseason.

What do you think will end up happening in Green Bay?

Would you rather have Love or Hurts on your team???
