In the wake of his departure from the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick has been consistently linked to the Atlanta Falcons, but an interesting report suggests there might be a “sleeper” team lurking in the darkness.
Belichick has interviewed twice with Atlanta and is reportedly very friendly with owner Arthur Blank.
As strange as the sight of Belichick wearing a Falcons hoodie may be, once Jerry Jones decided to stick with Mike McCarthy in Dallas, most people came to the realization that Belichick would indeed be heading to Atlanta.

That's crazy to me but right now that's the reality" ~ @AdamSchefter #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/JD6miGMHdX

However, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has thrown a curveball into the narrative, reporting that at least one “sleeper” team is quietly considering a potential run at Belichick.
Interestingly, Florio indicated that one of the teams currently does not have a head coach opening…
“Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, multiple teams are quietly considering a potential run at Belichick. At least one currently has a head-coaching vacancy. At least one currently does not,” he reported.
From yesterday . . . other teams are quietly assessing whether to make a run for Bill Belichick. https://t.co/VCAiT14Rfr

Perhaps the team without a current head coach vacancy is the Philadelphia Eagles. (Although it seems like Jeffrey Lurie is leaning towards keeping Nick Sirianni.)
Perhaps the mystery team is the New York Giants … That would indeed qualify as a shocker.
It’s well known that the Giants are Belichick’s dream job. Current head coach Brian Daboll has done a great job thus far, although there are reports of tension and unhappiness in the building.
Maybe the mystery team is the Buffalo Bills who are fresh off their nightmare loss at home to the Kansas City Chiefs … Head coach Sean McDermott seems to be well-respected, but when do the Bills say enough is enough with all of these premature playoff exits???
Falcons really gone risk it all for Bill Belichick! 😩 that’s why he not interviewing for any other coaching jobs cuz the Falcons told him he’s the man! They just goin thru the process of lookin at other coaches.. pic.twitter.com/zpjPwlc7tn

As a matter of fact, the whole Belichick-to-Buffalo theory has been floated before – as Bill Simmons is quick to remind everyone…
Two weeks ago, @BillSimmons floated the idea of Bill Belichick going to Buffalo.
After another playoff loss to the Chiefs, should the Bills consider a change at head coach? pic.twitter.com/2MFmqqy7du

Maybe the mystery team is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers … Not using his final timeout to stop the clock was a horrible look for head coach Todd Bowles.
Having said that, would Belichick really want to follow in Tom Brady’s footsteps and head to Tampa???

Where do you think Belichick will end up?
Do you think the whole “sleeper team” report is just a leverage play by Belichick?
At the end of the day, will he end up in Atlanta – and possibly bring Kirk Cousins with him???
