NFL Retracts One of Its Most Unbelievable Fines of the Season

The NFL season saw a plethora of fines, but one that stood out as particularly absurd has now been overturned. Breece Hall, the running back for the New York Jets, was initially fined $43,709 for lowering his helmet during a game against the Atlanta Falcons in December. Hall, however, argued that he had little choice as he needed to safeguard his knees, especially given his return from an ACL tear in his rookie season.

Fortunately for Hall, the league has reconsidered its decision and rescinded the hefty fine after the running back filed an appeal.

According to Tom Pelissero’s report over the weekend, “Upon appeal, #Jets RB Breece Hall’s $43,709 fine has been rescinded for this play last month, per source.”
