The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of the biggest surprises in the entire NFL this season.
After losing Tom Brady, most people thought the Bucs were destined to be one of the worst teams in the league and that head coach Todd Bowles was a dead man walking.
Fast forward to now, not only did Tampa Bay win the NFC South but they knocked off the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles as well.
Next up is a trip to Detroit to face Dan Campbell and the red-hot Lions.
Cold, wintery weather has been an enormous topic of conversation this past week, especially with the Bills game having to be moved due to the brutal conditions in Buffalo.
Very few people know brutal conditions better than our friends in Michigan. They are more than used to the relentless cold, wind, snow and ice that January brings.
Luckily for fans wishing to avoid hypothermia, the Lions of course play in a dome … I mean, it’s a waste of time to mention that since everyone knows that.
Well … On second thought, maybe not everyone.
During Bowles recent press conference, we were introduced to the only person in America who didn’t know the Detroit Lions play in a dome…
“Coach, looking forward toward Detroit. The weather has been a factor in some of the playoff games even for the most prepared teams … Today, it’s 13 degrees in Detroit, which doesn’t compare to some of the temperatures … Any special plans to acclimate the team to not only endure but perform in those kind of frigid temperatures should you face them in Detroit?” a reported asked Bowles.

You can only imagine how shocked Bowles and every single person was in that media room after hearing that insane question.
(An overlooked part of that question was her saying “should you face them in Detroit” … Ummm, there’s no “should” about it – the Bucs ARE facing the Lions IN Detroit!)
Credit to Bowles for handling the situation with kindness and professionalism. After all, it would be extremely easy not too…
“They got a dome,” he said. “No. Nothing planned. We’re indoors, and we only have to be outside for the 20 seconds getting off the bus. We’ll be OK.”
Needless to say, that “reporter” has zero business covering the NFL if she didn’t know the Lions play in a dome.
Unsurprisingly, she was destroyed on social media for her ignorance…

Touching on the actual game for a second – Who do you think will win?
Baker Mayfield and the Bucs are a great story and will be taking an “us against the world” approach into the game … That chippy, “no one believes in us” attitude will certainly make them dangerous.
However, can you envision the Lions losing at home to the Bucs with everything on the line???
The “old Lions,” absolutely … But as Campbell’s squad has proven all year long, these aren’t your same old Lions.
