It’s not every day that Alabama and Auburn allow a 5-star recruit to escape the state – but that’s exactly what happen with star wide receiver Cameron Coleman.
In a major surprise, it’s the Texas A&M Aggies who received the coveted commitment from Coleman.
Reports suggest that Texas A&M had quietly held Coleman’s commitment for a few weeks, despite previous predictions that he would choose Auburn as his collegiate destination.
Standing at an impressive 6’3″ and weighing 180 pounds, Coleman is ranked as the 3rd best receiver, 1st in the state of Alabama, and 11th overall player in the 2024 class.
His skill set showcases exceptional high-point catches, precise route running, and excellent vision on the field.
“Cameron Coleman’s commitment is a huge win for Texas A&M Football,” said recruiting analyst John Smith. “With Auburn and Alabama heavily pursuing him, it’s impressive that Texas A&M was able to secure his commitment.”
“He brings a combination of size, athleticism, and playmaking ability that will undoubtedly make him a fantastic addition to the Aggies roster.”

As the number 1 player in the talent-rich state of Alabama, Coleman had no shortage of suitors vying for his commitment. However, it was Texas A&M that became the first school to offer him a Division 1 scholarship, ultimately leading to his decision to join the Aggies program.
This commitment places Coleman as the 7th highest-rated player ever to commit to Texas A&M, solidifying the Aggies reputation as a top destination for elite talent.
If Texas A&M Football can maintain Coleman’s commitment, he has the potential to become a significant contributor to the team’s receiver room in the 2024 season.
“This commitment is a game-changer for Texas A&M,” stated recruiting expert Lisa Johnson. “Not only does it showcase their ability to recruit top-tier talent, but it also elevates the overall status of their 2024 class. With Coleman on board, the Aggies recruiting efforts in the past month have been nothing short of impressive.”

Over the past month, Texas A&M Football has secured a series of notable commitments, adding depth and talent to their upcoming roster. Notable additions include 4-star tight end Eric Karner, 4-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart, and 4-star offensive tackle Weston Davis, among others.
With the football season rapidly approaching, Head Coach Jimbo Fisher has orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for the Aggies recruiting efforts after a challenging 2022 season.
As the team continues to build its roster with talented prospects, Fisher aims to translate their recruiting successes into victories on the field, propelling Texas A&M Football in the right direction.
Fisher is on one of the hottest seats in the nation and could very well be coaching for his job this season.
Do you think he and the Aggies can make the jump and truly become a consistently elite program?
