For Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro Travis Kelce, it goes way beyond those numbers … He’s FAR from the only concern in Kansas City, however, it’s clear that he’s not had the same impact this season as he’s had in years past.
It’s not quite panic time for the defending Super Bowl champions – but at 9-6, the clock is ticking for them to re-find their groove in time for the playoffs.
After all, their stunning loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day was one of the biggest shockers of the entire NFL season.
With so much on the line, how they come out so flat and lifeless? … Clearly, their problems run very deep.
FOX Sports personality Skip Bayless thinks he knows who one of the problems is – and that would be none other than pop icon Taylor Swift.
Following the Chiefs disastrous loss to the rival Raiders, Bayless took to X and labeled the musician as a clear “distraction.”
“Feels like it’s about time to call Taylor Swift a distraction. What do you think, Patrick? Andy? How about you, Travis?” Bayless wrote.

In reality, it’s probably unfair to blame Swift for the sudden nose-dive in performance.
It’s a convenient narrative, but the fact of the matter is Kelce must take full responsibility for his lack of focus and lack of production (for his high standards, that is).
Again, the statistics are solid – but statistics never tell the full story.
Anyone whose watched the Chiefs closely this season knows that Kelce’s had several uncharacteristic drops and “lack-of-focus” plays this season.
Having said that, he’s far from the only problem … Quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t been his usual Superman-self. But it’s become painfully obvious that the Chiefs severe lack-of-talent at the wide receiver position has been the main reason for their struggles.
Any team that enters a season having a reliance on Kadarius Toney deserves what they get.

At the same time, we all know how dangerous the Chiefs can be when they’re clicking on all cylinders … If Mahomes, Kelce and head coach Andy Reid can figure things out, they are as big of a threat as anyone in the AFC.
But the clock is ticking…
Can the Chiefs get their act together in time for the playoffs?
Or has Taylor Swift permanently ruined the franchise???
Okay, that might be a little too dramatic … But does Bayless have a point that Kelce’s head has been elsewhere this season rather than on being focused on being the very best he can be for the Chiefs???
