When Trevor Lawrence got injured against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football, the city of Jacksonville braced for the worst.

What had looked like a serious, and potentially season-ending injury, turned out to be a high-ankle sprain.

While it’s still a tough injury, it was the best possible outcome for Lawrence and the Jaguars.

Speaking to the media, Lawrence expressed surprise at how well he was feeling considering how bad he initially thought the injury was.

“I feel a lot better. I feel a lot better than I would have thought I’d feel. I am very fortunate. I’m thankful that it wasn’t a worse injury than what I thought it was on the field,” he said.

It is indeed a mini-miracle that the injury wasn’t nearly as bad as it first appeared…

In the immediate aftermath of the injury, Lawrence’s wife Marissa took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the outpouring of support from the Jaguars community.

In a heartfelt post on her Instagram Stories, Marissa showcased numerous messages of encouragement and well-wishes that flooded in after her husband suffered what many thought to be a devastating season-ending injury.

“Really overwhelmed by people’s kindness and love. Just wanted to share something positive and thank everyone truly for your prayers and support. Grateful to be surrounded by so many amazing people,” she wrote.

Marissa, who has been married to Lawrence since April 2021, was present at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville during Monday’s primetime game where Lawrence left in the fourth quarter. (Cart-less, by the way … But he later admitted that was his call.)

Offensive tackle Walker Little inadvertently stepped on Lawrence’s ankle, causing him to drop to the turf in frustration.

Backup quarterback C.J. Beathard took over, completing 9 of 10 passes for 63 yards.

The Jags would go on to lose in overtime to the Bengals.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson confirmed on Tuesday that Lawrence has a high-ankle sprain.

Regarding Lawrence’s condition, Pederson stated: “Everything is stable, looks good. We’ll see how he is in a couple of days.”

Only time will tell just how much time Lawrence will miss.

At 8-4, the Jags are right in the thick of the AFC playoff picture.

The former #1 overall pick has not missed a single game due to injury throughout his entire three-year career … That most likely will change on Sunday (although he hasn’t been officially ruled out yet).

Lawrence has thrown for 3,004 yards, 14 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while pitching in four more scores on the ground.

The Jaguars, currently leading the AFC South with an 8-4 record, hold the fourth seed in the AFC playoff race.

The Jaguars face the Cleveland Browns at 1pm on Sunday.

Will we see Lawrence???

Regardless, what are your thoughts on the Jags this season?

Where does Lawrence rank among the top quarterbacks in the league???
