Steve Belichick has football in his blood, being the son of the iconic Patriots coach Bill Belichick. He has played a significant role in the Patriots’ defensive strategies over the past few years.
His journey with the Patriots began in 2012 when he joined as a defensive assistant. Over time, he worked his way up within the organization, eventually becoming the safeties coach in 2016. In 2019, he took on the crucial responsibility of calling defensive plays when Brian Flores departed to lead the Miami Dolphins. Since 2020, Steve Belichick has served as the Patriots’ outside linebackers coach.
In the previous season, despite the Patriots’ disappointing 4-13 record, their defense held its own. They ranked seventh in the NFL, allowing an average of just 301.6 yards per game and were among the league’s top teams in terms of yards allowed.
Now, as Steve Belichick transitions to the college level with the University of Washington, football fans will be eager to see how he leaves his mark on the Huskies’ defense in the upcoming season.
