ARE THEY CRAZY??: Major Site Releases Their Controversial Top 25 Rankings … What Did They Get Wrong??

As spring practices kick off across college football, fans are eager to get a little taste of what to expect from their favorite teams this coming season.

I think I speak for everyone when I say the 2024 season can’t possibly come soon enough.

With the playoff field expanding to 12-teams (and eventually 14-teams most likely), we are about to enter a brand-new era in college football.

Expanding the field has been a long time coming and should have been something put into place years ago.

However, it’s now finally here and fans can begin to dream about their teams making that magical run…

As is always the case, the season will be filled with juicy storylines both on and off the field.

Most people think the top two teams in the country will be the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Georgia Bulldogs … It’s very hard to argue with that as we stand today.

For a deeper look, 247Sports revealed their complete top 25 rankings as we enter spring practice.

This is how they see it…

#1. Ohio State
#2. Georgia
#3. Texas
#4. Oregon
#5. Ole Miss
#6. Notre Dame
#7. Missouri
#8. Alabama
#9. Michigan
#10. Penn State
#11. LSU
#12. Oklahoma
#13. Utah
#14. Tennessee
#15. Florida State
#16. Clemson
#17. Kansas State
#18. Miami
#19. NC State
#20. Texas A&M
#21. USC
#22. Kansas
#23. Arizona
#24. Louisville
#25. Oklahoma State

Very interesting…

Besides Ohio State and Georgia, Texas will enter the season with sky-high expectations. With the return of Heisman Trophy candidate Quinn Ewers, Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns are more than capable of winning the national title.

Same can be said for Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks, especially with their addition of quarterback Dillion Gabriel via the transfer portal.

Perhaps most interesting are the next two teams – the Ole Miss Rebels and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Lane Kiffin will enter the season with the best team he’s ever had in Oxford. Coming off a phenomenal “transfer portal season” (minus the loss of star running back Quinshon Judkins), the Rebs will be nearly unstoppable on offense.

One of the biggest brands in all of sports, Notre Dame will also be looked upon as legitimate contenders. Quarterback Riley Leonard transferred in from Duke and is expected to take the Irish to a level they haven’t been to in a very long time.
